The investor community for Queenstown Lakes
WWIN (Wanaka & Wakatipu Investor Network) is a community for investors interested in seed, angel, and venture capital investment in high-growth startup, innovation, and technology companies.
Supported by Startup Queenstown Lakes, this is a professional network that gives members access to upskilling education, capital-raising deal flow opportunities, and connections within New Zealand's growing startup and innovation scene.
WWIN is part of a new South Island initiative being co-created by numerous startup and investor organizations across Aotearoa to build a well connected, high-skilled startup investment community.
Who can join? WWIN is a community for investors who can demonstrate a capability to participate in seed, angel, or venture capital raising activity.
In addition to our investor-centric roundtable sessions, Startup Queenstown Lakes will host numerous events throughout the year for the general startup community.
What to expect. Roundtable meetups feature a seasoned investor sharing war stories and advice among peers. From time to time, founders may pitch their startup at pitch events and formal learning workshops may be conducted to help upskill the community.
Confidentiality rules. Chatham house rules apply. Participation is for members who understand that this is a closed forum for investors to share in a private, confidential environment.

Startup Queenstown Lakes Charitable Trust is charged with building a thriving knowledge and innovation ecosystem, supported by QLDC. We are working to build a more diverse and productive economy for the region. To succeed, the District needs both investment-ready startups and investors with the skills and knowledge to invest in them.
WWIN is an effort to begin to upskill and increase the size of the investment community who can make an investment (at early and late stages) in innovative, disruptive, and high-growth companies based in the District and throughout New Zealand. Further, it will provide founders with the support needed to raise outside investment.
WWIN is part of a wider effort being organized across the South Island to increase investment and investor readiness. By building a well-connected community of investors, utilizing consistent language, investment tools, and term sheets across Aotearoa, we can streamline getting founders and their startups investment-ready, and reduce the friction during fundraising to help get rounds closed and companies moving forward quickly.
WWIN is not an angel fund and is not a registered investment advisor or providing investment advice. Participants who may make an investment in a startup through WIN events or activities does so at their own risk. Discussion with an attorney, accountant, or qualified investment advisor is highly advised.
