Entrepreneur Coffee Jam (Queenstown)
November 15, 2018 @ 7:15 am - 8:30 amFree
Our morning coffee + startup meetup continues! Join fellow entrepreneurs in a morning social and learning event from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. to connect and meet with other startup enthusiasts in the region.
Our Entrepreneur Coffee Jams returns for November at Yonder in Queenstown with a unique Canadian twist. Trent Yeo is up north in Whistler and he’ll be connecting via live video feed with leaders from Squamish, British Columbia. We’ll be hearing about how they are building their entrepreneur community and we’ll have plenty of opportunities for Q&A to compare and contrast the two adventure resort towns.
Nestled 45 minutes either side of North Vancouver and Whistler, Squamish is booming and one of Canada’s fastest growing communities. Along with having a long history of being a mecca for digital entrepreneurs, the Sea to Sky Corridor is fast becoming a place where young entrepreneurs are flocking to.
Joining Trent live from Squamish will be local tech entrepreneur and advisor – Michelle Martin, Founder of Squamish’s Co-working Space, The Common, Peter Buchholz and future founder of Startup Canada, Sea-2-Sky Community – Blake Allen.
Back here in Queenstown, our very own Peter Harris (Economic Development Manager @ QLDC) will be facilitating as we share the similarities and challenges of our two locations.
Audience participation is highly encouraged and we’d love to share your thoughts and questions with our new Canadian friends!
Send your questions for the Squamish crew to: email@example.com
We’ll also be hearing from local entrepreneur Justin Worth from Snopro. Starting as a husband and wife team with an idea pencilled in a scrapbook, Snopro came about due to a belief that a full service, customer centred ski hire solution was needed in New Zealand.
Snopro was recently nominated for the Centrality Innovation Award at the 2018 Westpac Queenstown Business Awards and we can’t wait to hear Justin share their journey with us!
